Production diary

21/11/2018 Today I worked with the director and planned and completed some paperwork before we start filming later this week. I organised a shooting schedule so the team is able to follow it and so I am alert on where I need to setup camera equipment for filming. Also, the shooting schedule lets me know the location, props and who the actors are so I can visualise what camera work is needed. Also, the rest of the team completed some paperwork such as call sheets, props list and also costume breakdown which is of course important for the actors. Ultimately, I read over the shot list and made sure the shooting schedule is correct and is ready for use when needed. We also planned shot lists and storyboard to help us with our ideas and help us film. 23/11/2018 Without Laura we temporarily got another member and it was Thomas. Me, Anya and Thomas went to Dannielas house on Friday to film parts of our Christmas ad. We met up in Stockton high street and walked to her house. When w...

Evaluation

Task 4 - Evaluation From this Christmas advert I have learnt many things that will help me for future projects. I have learnt that when it comes to making the advert there is a lot of thinking to do. From an audience point of view when you watch an advert it seems like it’s easy to make but in reality it is not. I now know this because my team thought hard of an idea and we thought of an emotional storyline and thought how it would affect the target audience and how they would react to our advert. I have also learnt that a lot of research has to be done before you decide to make your own project. You have to research how the industry produce adverts and what type of music they use. Also, you have to research different camera shots and also look really deep into what the story is telling the audience. Furthermore, I also learnt that a lot of work is to be done before the filming begins. This is because a lot of paperwork was completed during pre-production such as script, shooting ...

Research and development

Task 2 – Research and development When it comes to researching there are many forms of research that is taken by the media industries. The 2 types of research used is market research and production research. Market research is where you gather any valuable information you can find and then you use it to target your own market. Market research is important because it is all about gathering information about your consumers need and preferences. Production research in media is important because the company wants to make sure they save money because the project they are making would be really expensive. There is a lot of production research to be done like, staff, cast, equipment, location, risk assessments, props etc. All of this research is done to save the most amount of money on the project and to make the most amount of profit the company can.   One way of a researching is by using questionnaires. This is because they are usually short and snappy and don’t take long to fill i...

This is because different advertisements have different target audiences so they use the communication method that is needed in order to target their audience. For example the John Lewis adverts use a range of communication methods to create meaning. An example of a John Lewis advert is BusterTheBoxer ad. John Lewis are most famous for their music so instantly when the ad starts playing sad, emotional but relaxing music begins to play which sets the mood for the video instantly. This is use of pathos which means that the ad is giving out some sort of emotion in this case it’s a sad emotion. Later in the advertisement different communication...
